Chickenless taouk. Make this your go to on meatless Mondays!
Ingredients
1 Tbsp ketchup
Juice of 1 lemon
1/3 cup plain (dairy or non) Greek style yogurt
3-4 garlic cloves, minced or crushedgarli
All spice mix (smoked paprika, cloves, cinnamon, cumin, garlic, pepper)
1/2 cup of water
2 Tbsp olive oil
3/4 pack of firm or extra firm tofu, sliced
Rice, cooked to instructions
Salad or sides of choice
Preparation
In a bowl, mix ketchup, spices, 1 tbsp olive oil, garlic, juice of lemon and yogurt. Add a bit of water to soften if too thick.
Dip tofu slices into mixture and set aside to marinade in refrigerator for a few hours.
When ready to cook, heat 1 Tbsp olive oil in skillet and sear tofu slices on both sides until slightly browned.
Top on bowl of rice and bed of veggies, or enjoy with a side of fresh salad!
